Meet the Artist
Robert Seavy is an artist living in Denver, Colorado. He’s a retired lawyer and now devotes most of his time to making art, bike riding, and spending time with family and friends. Bob works primarily in oil paint and wood, occasionally concrete. Bob has been a woodworker since he was a small child, making things with his grandpa in Pueblo. Now his wood shop contains all of his grandpa’s power tools, as well as some newer tools that didn’t even exist then. Bob’s woodworking has evolved over the years from practical items to more sculptural pieces. He took a class in oil painting about 15 years ago and found he really has a passion for the medium.
“My approach, whether I’m working with wood or paint has always been to reflect energy, movement, and flow in each piece. With wood, taking into account the natural flow of the grain. With paint, feeling the natural movement seen in nature - from water, trees or the sky - and attempting to mimic that energy onto a canvas or hardboard.”
